Priority Areas

Kids Across Borders priority areas are Sustainability, Reconciliation and Engagement with Asia and Africa which align with the Australian Curriculum cross-curricula priorities.

Sustainability has become the central issue of our time and the young people of today will need the knowledge, skills and values to face the challenges of a changing world into the future. Education for Sustainability is at the heart of Kids Across Borders and the program uses its core principles as learning areas to structure and guide students learning. Education for Sustainability builds awareness and knowledge of sustainability issues with its social, cultural, economic and environmental dimensions. School linking provides a unique opportunity for students to grasp the global nature of these issues, while sharing local information and collaborating on solutions together.

Kids Across Borders brings reconciliation and engagement with Asia and Africa to life by building friendships and relationships between children based on mutual respect and understanding. It creates a platform for students to share information about themselves, their culture and their environment, enabling them to work towards a more sustainable future together.
